They are a perfect combination of the classic vintage Selmer developed base saxophone mixed with the modern comforts and buildings of modern day!! This saxophones is loud and robust and allows you ultimate flexibility while still keeping firm tonal stance A lot of these modern horns out there play very slippery sloppy while these Series IIs are just amazing right down the center. This saxophone sports its original lacquer and beautiful Selmer factory engraving. The engraving is highly detailed and ornate sprawling across the horn, really stunning to look at in real life.
This saxophone is used and although it has nice shiney lacquer there are many areas throughout the entire horn with scratching, knicks, dings, dents, patina, metal wear, lacquer wear. The saxophone has all they keys free and moving just as should be, however this sax will need a full leak setup by your tech, and if you choose a full pad job and overhaul. All in all, if your looking for a sax in this price range it just doesn't get better! There are other options out there, but to me at this price point the Series II is just a complete steal!!!
