VINTAGE King Cleveland 613 Alto SAXOPHONE sax withKing Case + EXTRAS ca. 1941
1941 King Cleveland 613 alto saxophone. Though difficult to read in the pictures, the sax is engraved "King 613 Cleveland" and "King Musical Instruments Eastlake, Ohio". The saxophone appears to be in good condition with some lacquer loss and brassing and very minor dents. 26 inches long and about 7.5 inches front to back. The keys have good, springing action and the cork on the neck where the mouthpiece fits on to looks almost new.
With that said, however, I recommend that the pads be replaced, springs inspected by a music shop, maybe even minor dents removed and refinishing and re-lacquering... The original "King" case is in beat-up shape and is missing the handle. It does, however, stays latched and hinges are good. Though all the parts are there and the keys have good action, I recommend that this vintage instrument be serviced/looked at by a professional musical instrument repair person.
